Privacy Policy

The short version

• We collect what we need to run Stockyard: your account details, the strategies and watchlists you create, and basic usage data.
• We don’t sell your personal information.
• We don’t have access to your brokerage account, and we don’t hold your money or securities.
• Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
• You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account information: your name, email address and password (stored in hashed form).
• Your content: the Smartfolios, watchlists, Discovery screens, backtests and settings you create, and the investment clubs you join.
• Messages: what you send us when you email support or give feedback.

Payment information

Paid plans are billed through a third-party payment processor, or through the Apple App Store or Google Play if you subscribe in a mobile app. They collect your payment details under their own privacy policies. We receive only limited information, such as your plan, billing status and the last four digits of your card.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages and features you use, alerts you open, and similar activity in the app.
• Device and log data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system and time zone.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see section 5.

We don’t ask for, and you shouldn’t give us, your brokerage login, account numbers, Social Security number or other government ID.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• provide Stockyard, including running your Smartfolios and sending you alerts by email and in the app
• create and manage your account, subscription and club memberships
• answer support requests and send service messages, such as billing notices and changes to our terms
• send product news and tips, which you can opt out of at any time
• understand how Stockyard is used, so we can fix problems and improve it
• protect Stockyard and our users against fraud, abuse and security threats
• meet our legal obligations

3. AI processing

Some Stockyard features use AI models provided by Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta, for example to analyze market data and SEC filings. When a feature needs information you’ve entered, such as a strategy’s rules, to do its job, that information may be processed by these models only to deliver that feature.

4. How we share information

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers. We share it only:

• with service providers who help us run Stockyard: Microsoft Azure (hosting), Google Analytics (site analytics), Gmail (email), our payment processor, and the AI providers described in section 3. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• with your investment club: if you join a club, other members can see your name and the strategies, Smartfolios and leaderboard results you share with the club.
• when the law requires it: to comply with a law, court order or valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Stockyard, our users or others.
• in a business transfer: if Stockyard is merged, acquired or sold, your information may transfer as part of that deal, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
• with your consent, for any other purpose.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of Stockyard may not work without them.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to keep it longer to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we’ll notify you as required by law.

8. Your choices and rights

You can:

• access, correct or export your information: most of it is in your account settings, or you can email us
• delete your account and the personal information associated with it
• opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email (service messages will still be sent while your account is open)
• manage alerts in your notification settings

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know what we collect or to appeal a decision we make about your request. To make a request, email support@stockyardinvest.com. We’ll respond within the time the law requires, and we won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.

9. Children

Stockyard is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

10. International users

Stockyard is operated in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use Stockyard from outside the US, you understand that your information will be transferred to the US, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
